On March 24, SofTECH will offer a presentation by Peter Gruhl, Software Development Manager at ConsultingResources.com Corporation.
Peter will be discussing Azure’s production release in February, 2010, which added Microsoft’s offering to the Cloud Computing Conundrum. He will start with Cloud Computing in general, describing and contrasting similar approaches, such as Software as a Service, Platform as a Service, Distributed Computing, Managed Services, and Utility Computing and compare and contrast products offered by major competitors (Amazon, IBM, Google, SalesForce.com, Microsoft, etc.)
With Microsoft’s Azure being the new kid on the block, Gruhl plans to spend a little more time on Azure, in which Microsoft is taking .NET into the Cloud. If time permits, he hopes to demonstrate one or more Cloud applications live for our members.
