SofTECH Elections 2010-2011

SofTECH
Wants You!

About the SofTECH Board

The SofTECH Board is the voice and the face of the general membership to the technology industry and Marin and Sonoma communities. SofTECH Board members make decisions on general meeting topics, special interest groups, membership discounts and offers, strategic partnerships and other order of business. The Board is much more than an advisory committee. Board members produce and organize general meetings and SIGs, and pitch in when extra hands are needed for meeting logistics and membership and sponsorship drives.

There are many benefits of joining SofTECH's Board. Our current Board members will tell you that the more work you put into it the more you are sure to get out of it. As a Board member, you will have a chance to shape the mission and vision of the organization, improve the organization's performance, and provide leadership in the organization and the community as the "voice" of Marin's diverse technology industry.

SofTECH currently has 6 directors on the Board. The two-year terms of three of our directors elected in 2006 and 2007 are expiring. The authorized number of directors is between three and 11. SofTECH currently has 4 open seats on the Board of Directors for the 2010 / 2011 term.

The Board typically meets once a month for two hours at a Marin location.

In addition, it is expected that each Board member will develop a General Meeting topic, and use their personal and/or SofTECH's "Rolodex" to identify, pitch and obtain speaking/presentation commitments from appropriate leaders in the technology community. More details on the specific responsibilities are available from SofTECH President Mark Ginnebaugh or any other current Board member.
